MPEG-4

This section covers my research at Anglia Ruskin University.

For the Qualification of Master of Philosophy I wanted to research into new media and how it is created. MPEG-4 is a media format in development and without a mainstream software application from any of the major developers. Development requires timeline based non linear editing, a what you see is what you get system with an easy feedback loop similar to Adobe Flash.

However MPEG-4 is a container format and allows much more than a frame-by-frame output, content can be reused more efficiently and soon will be adapted to stream over the cable MPEG-2 network.
